Yellow Mongoose (Cynictis penicillata): Several seen in Etosha NP
Spotted Hyena (Crocuta crocuta): Only three lone individuals seen in Etosha
Small-spotted Genet (Genetta genetta): One came to drink at night, Erongo Wilderness Lodge
Lion (Panthera leo): A total of 36 seen in Etosha.
African Elephant (Laxodonta africana): Seen almost daily in Etosha
Plains zebra (Equus burchelii): Seen daily in Etosha.
Black Rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis): Seen at night at the Oukakuejo waterhole. Up to three females with young at the same time.
Common warthog (Phacochoerus africanus): Very common in Etosha and the Erongos. Often inside lodges where grass was still fresh.
Giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis): Seen daily in Etosha.
Greater Kudu (Tragelaphus striptocerus): Females seen daily in Etosha. Bulls are usually more elusive, but seen well at waterholes and in more dense wooded areas.
Gemsbok (Oryx gacella): Common around Huab Lodge, and very common in Etosha.
Blue Wildebeest (Connochaetes taurinus): Common in Etosha
Red Hartebeest (Alcelaphus busephalus): A few around Halali area, Etosha
Impala ((Aepyceros melampus petersi): The distinctive black-faced subspecies so characteristic of Northern Namibia. Relatively common around Namutoni area, Etosha.
Klipspringer (Oreotragus oreotragus): Several pairs seen at Spitzkoppe and around Erongo Wilderness Lodge.
Springbok (Antidorcas marsupialis): The most abundant and characteristic ungulate in Etosha.
Steenbok (Raphicerus campestris): Lone individuals and pairs seen almost anywhere with some dense cover, from the Erongos to Etosha.
Damara Dik-dik (Madoqua kirkii): Normally elusive, relatively tame pairs could be seen around Erongo Wilderness Lodge and Waterberg. Also in the Dik-dik drive near Namutoni, Etosha.
Grey Duiker (Sylvicapra grimmia): Lone individuals seen near Spitzkoppe and in Etosha

Namibian Rock Agama (Agama planiceps): Common in rocky areas throughout the Erongos to Huab.
Ground Agama (Agama aculeata): One seen on a drive near Namutoni, Etosha
Anchieta’s Agama (Agama anchietae): A pair on the road from Uys to Huab
Namaqua Sand Lizard (Pedioplanis namaquensis): Relatively common in the Erongos
Black-lined Plated Lizard (Gerrhosaurus nogrolineatus): One seen near Erongo Wilderness Lodge
Black Girdled Lizard (Cordylus niger): Good numbers on the cliffs at Cape Point, SA
Striped Skink (Mabuya wahlbergi): Several specimens of different forms seen in Huab and Etosha
Wedge-snouted Skink (Mabuya acutilabris): One seen near Huab
Boulton’s Namib Day Gecko (Rhoptropus boutoni): Two seen in different rocky areas near Huab Lodge
Barnard’s Namib Day Gecko (Rhoptropus barnardi): One near Huab
Turner’s Gecko (Pachydactylus bibroni): Seen at night hunting, Ai Aiba Lodge
Flap-neck Chameleon (Chamaeleo dilepis): one crossing the road near Waterberg
Horned Adder (Bitis caudalis): One seen at Spitzkoppe
African Rock Python (Python natalensis): A large specimen drinking from the waterhole at Namutoni, Etosha
Western Olive Toad (Bufo poweri): Several calling in a pond, Namutoni Camp, Etosha
Marbled Rubber Frog (Phrynomantis annectens): Several calling inside the lodge’s pool at night, Erongo Wilderness
